Deaf Aware doctors

26 May 2009

Deaf patients at a hospital in Bath are to be treated by an army of Deaf Aware staff.

Last week 250 doctors and nurses at the Royal United Hospital were made Deaf Aware as a result of courses run by SignTranslate.

Everyone was also trained in using online software meaning deaf patients can be interpreted for by an off-site terptree interpreter through a webcam.

The online interpreting is available across the south and uses terptree’s interpreters who are all MRSLI qualified.

Contact online@terptree.co.uk to book an online interpreter for a doctor’s or hospital appointment.

If you need to book an interpreter for a face-to-face appointment email interpreting@terptree.co.uk
